Burgundy Lips - Featuring Rocker from Mac

Mac finally released their By Request collection on the UK website.

The collection was a vote by customers to bring back their favourite limited edition products.

After voting ended the three winning lip glosses, lipsticks and eye shadows were announced.

A few pieces caught my eye and today I have the perfectly vampy and on trend lipstick in Rocker.

It's a gorgeous matte burgundy with tiny gold flecks. I love this colour, perfect for the winter months!

FOTD starring Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadow

After a lot of lusting I finally caved in a bought an eyeshadow from Armani. I was in heaven swatching them and was really torn about what colour to get. I settled on number 4 Pulp Fiction. I love it. Not convinced it was the optimum colour choice but its definately left me lusting for more. And seeing as it was pay day and Mac still haven't put up the Shop Mac, Cook Mac collection online, I will be investing in at least another couple.

I'll post a full review of the eyeshadow and the lovely people at the Armani counter in Selfridges at the weekend. For now I'll just leave you with the look I created today.

Nars Blush in Orgasm

Another cult item in my collection. The always talked about Nars Blush in Orgasm.

It's a beautiful pink with micro gold particles which add the perfect amount of sheen.

The pink is perfect for giving a slightly flushed looked without being too pink. It's just perfect for everyday wear.

Depending on my mood I'll wear it on its own swept over my cheek bones, or just on the apples of my cheeks layered over a bronzer.

I find that it wears for hours, only at the end of a working day do I feel that I need more on, but then that tends to go with any makeup I'd be wearing.

It's very finely milled so incredibly easy to blend meaning you can have as much or as little colour as you want.

If you're new to Nars then this is as good a place as any to start!

Nars Mini Soft Touch Shadow Pencil Set

I fell pray to this set after swatching them at John Lewis before Christmas, the colours were simply beautiful and I thought the would be great either to wear on their own or as a base for other eye shadows. So I ordered them off of Asos as I had a 20% discount code.

Picture L-R: Aigle Noir, Tall Tale, Magic Moon, Palladium, Skorpios, Ballets Russes

Aigle Noir is a black base with flecks of gold glitter
Tall Tale a beautiful deep purple
Magic Moon a wonderful metallic cobalty blue colour
Palladium is a fab turquoise
Skorpios is a lovely bronzey orange
Ballets Russes (love the name) is a sheer white based glitter, maybe best suited as a brow highlight of in the tear duct

At first glance I was so happy I'd bought them. That feeling didn't last too long.

I made an eye look using three different colours, layering a little eyeshadow over the top in the hope of intensifying the colour and increasing the longevity of the look I had created.

So I went to work, and had forgotten all about wearing these new pencils until I went to the bathroom and caught a glimpse of my reflection. The level of creasing and slippage was unbelievable. It had only been a couple of hours yet it looked like I had slept in my makeup. I tried to smooth out the creases but with little success.

These have stayed pretty untouched since then. Last week I decided to try the navy "Magic Moon" as an eyeliner. Again without much success. The colour transferred from my lash line onto my crease and faded quickly too.

Overall a very underwhelming performance. It hasn't put me off of Nars as a brand at all though. I love their colour collections and fun product names, I just think these are a disappointing part of an otherwise amazing brand.
